Basic Routes to Clear & OT

Definitions for Ron's Bridge to Total Freedom

Auditing:  The action of asking someone a question (which he can understand and answer), getting an answer to that question and acknowledging him for that answer. Auditing is the spiritual counselling technique of the Church of Scientology — a religion.
Clear:  a being who can be at cause knowingly and at will over mental matter, energy, space and time as regards his own survival.
Co-auditing:  cooperative auditing; a team of any two persons who are helping themselves to a better life through auditing each other.
Grades of release:  the various stages of Scientology processing (spiritual counselling) which release a person from certain specific troublesome areas of life. Each of these is a distinct and definite step towards greater awareness and ability.
Dianetics:  Man's most advanced school of the mind; from the Greek dia, through, and noos, mind, thus “through mind” or “through thought”.
OT (Operating Thetan):  a Clear who has been familiarized with his environment to a point of total cause over matter, energy, space, time and thought, and who is not in a body.
Pastoral Counsellor:  a minister of the Church who uses the auditing procedures of Standard Dianetics to help a person.
Reactive Mind:  that portion of a person's mind which works on a stimulus-response basis, which is not under his willing control and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.
Saint Hill Organization:  a high level Scientology organization. The first such organization was located at Saint Hill Manor, East Grinstead, Sussex, England; hence its name.
Solo Auditing:  an advanced technique of auditing oneself.
Thetan:  the person himself — not his body or name, the physical universe, his mind, or anything else; that which is aware of being aware; the identity that IS the individual. (From theta θ, the Greek symbol for “thought” or perhaps “spirit”.)

Ron's Bridge to Total Freedom

       How many years has Man been searching for happiness and a better world? Hundreds? . . . Thousands? . . .
       Since the first thinker put on his thinking cap, men have been looking, hoping, dreaming and awaiting the day when happiness and a better world would become a reality in their own lives.
       With the development of Dianetics* and Scientology*, L. Ron Hubbard has founded a bridge — a bridge between man's present state and that for which he has longed so long.
       That is the Bridge to Total Freedom. There are two basic routes across the Bridge. You may go up either of these routes or cross over in between at your discretion.

The Training Route

       This consists of getting trained in the vast materials of Dianetics and Scientology. Here you will find the answers to the basics of life. And resolve any questions about life. Here, also, you will learn how to help others by auditing* them and giving them new freedoms and abilities.
        Also, on the Training Route you yourself receive auditing (up to Grade IV—see Auditing Route) from another student, at no cost, on the levels you are learning to audit others on. This is co-auditing (cooperative auditing).

The Communication Course:  Covering the basics of communication, this course gives you an increased ability to handle your environment and other people.
The Hubbard Standard Dianetics Course:  The basic course about the mind — its anatomy and its effect on people. You become a Dianetic Pastoral Counsellor*, capable of helping your fellow man with ease and confidence. Includes free co-auditing on Dianetics.
The Academy Levels 0-IV:  Covering the basics of life itself, here you become a Scientology Spiritual Counsellor, capable of helping another discard the burdens of his life — and watch him emerge to a happier and brighter world. Includes free co-auditing on the Grades of release* (See Auditing Route).
The Saint Hill Special Briefing Course:  The most thorough and comprehensive training course in the philosophy and technology of Scientology. As a SHSBC student you receive a 50% discount on Power Processing (see below).
Upper Level Training:  At Class VII you learn to audit the fabulous Power Processes (see Auditing Route); at Class VIII you learn to audit OTs*, and at Class IX you achieve an extremely high level of knowledge and application of Scientology.

The Auditing Route

       You get auditing from highly trained auditors (spiritual counsellors) in your local organization under expert supervision. This ensures you of the greatest possible case gain on your route to Clear*.

Life Repair:  By handling first those particular things bothering you in your life now, you gain a greatly increased awareness and understanding of your life and environment.
Dianetic Auditing (Pastoral Counselling):  You are freed from the influence of past moments of loss and pain and achieve a new level of well-being and happiness.
Grades of release (0-IV):  A new, bright and much happier world is yours . . . you are able to communicate with anyone on any subject (Grade 0) . . . you can make your problems vanish (Grade I) . . . you find relief from the hostilities and sufferings of life (Grade II) . . . you achieve a new freedom to face the future (Grade III) . . . and you have a greatly increased ability to act and do new things (Grade IV).
Power and Power Plus:  With Power Processing at your nearest Saint Hill Organization*, you recover your ability to handle power as a being. That ability is stabilized with Power Plus.

Solo Auditing*

       All persons do the steps below whether they came up the Training Route or Auditing Route (see illustration on page 12 [Basic Routes to Clear & OT]).

Solo Auditor's Course:  Your first step at the Advanced Organization is the Solo Auditor's Course, where you learn to audit yourself so you can do the Clearing Course and OT Course which are solo auditing levels.
Grade VI Release:  As a Solo Auditor you unlock the basic mechanisms of the Reactive Mind* and are freed from compulsive behavior.
Clear:  At last! Freedom from one's own Reactive Mind. The realm of true happiness which countless ages have dreamed of without finding, but now at last it can be yours!
And Beyond:  The levels of OT (Operating Thetan). You reach astonishing states of awareness and expand your spiritual abilities beyond any previous limits imagined.

       With each step across the Bridge you reach a new understanding, a broader awareness, and an increased ability to handle life and your environment.
